What I like about February:

*It puts the long month of January behind us. Thirty-one days is too long for me and I can never live up to New Years expectations, so my friend, February closes that chapter for me. Thanks, Feb.!

*I like how I must pause on getting the correct spelling of your name right. Why is there an "r" in your name, anyway??? I looked up silent "r's" to see how many other words shared in this trait. Should it even be silent? The Latins back in their day didn't think so! (But, of course there are some continents places and dialects in the world that skip their "r's" altogether, right mate?) February is special.

*It brings us hope and reminders for love. It gives us a chance to let the ones around us know they are special to us. Hearts, Hugs, and Kisses in the shape of flowers, chocolates, candies, and cards. Shades of pinks and reds.

*In the US, this whole month is dedicated to Americans of African heritage to highlight important people and contributions to our culture. It's a time to reflect on dreams that came true and new dreams and renewed hope for peace and unity. Perfect for February, the month of love!

*And then we have the Chinese New Year, but to be fair, sometimes this happens in January. This year, of the twelve characters that cycle in appearance, is the (Fire) Horse. There are 5 elements that also cycle in a 60 year phase: wood, fire, earth, gold (metal) and water.

Here is a chart to help understand the sentiments and festivities:

"The Horse itself symbolizes strength, freedom, perseverance, and swift progress...When fused with the transformative Fire element these qualities ignite into something extraordinary...Fire in Chinese philosophy embodies passion, enthusiasm, dynamism, and innovation." https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/horoscope/the-chinese-year-of-the-fire-horse-is-coming-here-s-what-that-means-for-your-zodiac-sign/ar-AA1VgLlo

So, to sum up the month of February: sounds like a party to me! Probably need to wear something red to match the vibe.

This felt like chatting with a friend who actually notices the personality of a month. I smiled at the January fatigue and loved how you layered history, culture, and humor together so naturally. As a reader, it made February feel lighter and more intentional.

  • Love it. Fire Horse. WOW

Definitely gotta love February (though I have had a good January) and you have just given me another reason. I didn’t know that the month was dedicated to African Americans so thanks.
