The light will carry you.
Navarasam- The nine emotions

Walking through the busy street,
alongside the travelers like me,
experiencing the place as its whole,
mingling with the local people,
looking at the shops around,
the energy of the surroundings meant a usual day.
////
Amidst the sounds of the crowd,
a bright aroma hit me,
and my body slowly followed its tone,
like I rose to the bell.
Surprised to see myself standing in front of the perfume shop,
a grand perfume shop in between these local markets,
a cloud of dreams flashed like a grand welcome to a heavenly space.
////
I stepped into the silence of fragrance,
and there was none but you,
stunningly seated in front of the luxurious black piano,
shimmering under the wafer lights,
attractively dressed in red with a pearl pendant around the neck,
an aesthetic sense to emotionally connect to this space.
////
That one stroke of keynote to welcome,
and I smiled, I blinked, I bowed,
as this bright tone seems to strike a vein in my heart,
and I swayed to the corner, trying to control my tears,
the lights lit as I moved, and you didn't even look up but played a mellow sound,
an acknowledgment to let it flow,
////
You stepped a pedal,
I stepped forward with joy,
you threw a high tone,
I gazed at you in wonder,
you paced a slow tune,
I moved to the center with laughter,
setting the stage,
opening the curtains,
I rose to the audience,
just you and me,
////
Whispering to my ears through your beats,
you pitched a piano trilling,
alternating your play of sounds and keys,
and I kneeled on the ground,
surrendering the rage of emotions,
the disgusted feeling I held,
to let go of the fear of life,
////
you pulsed a warm note,
and I lifted my hands to my chest to feel the beat,
you played a harmonious key,
and I fell in love with the moment,
////
you dribbled with your feathery style,
I bloomed into a ballet pose,
spreading my wings, flying to every corner,
spinning around the earth of existence,
I built the courage to feel grateful,
////
you played around with the harmony of colors,
and I danced in tranquility to the string of sounds,
my hands in the air,
legs in control by the gravity,
body slithered like a snake,
capturing the expressions of joy,
loosening myself to the narrative rendition of yours,
////
you struck a high-pitched tone to end,
and I lay my body over the piano in the air,
you slowly stepped up to change the sound,
an angelic touch over your ivory keys,
and I had nothing but tears at your feet,
you gracefully pedaled with a glitch,
and I cry, holding onto my knees with the loss,
moments with my mother,
the love, the presence, now, empty,
////
the pain pressed my veins,
squeezed my blood,
stalled my heartbeat,
and I let the grief to flow,
yet with your eyes closed,
you cast an enchanting tone,
and I dropped to the ground,
wiping my tears,
knowing you are near me,
I held myself tight, finding comfort in your groove,
////
you slowed down, gently receiving the moment,
I wait for you to open your eyes,
but you played a majestic sound,
creating a celestial finale,
and I rose to the provocation of elements balancing on my way to find myself,
////
awestruck at the beauty of yours,
you raked your fingers across,
to end with a long-pressed note.
////
Gracefully lifting your legs from the pedal,
the touch of love to your piano,
the eyes that gazed at the play,
you came in dressed for a performance,
waiting for me to pass by,
to uplift, to provoke, to pierce an ethereal connection,
to promise a presence,
I never knew I would witness such a moment,
a rhythmic vibration as you stand in front of me,
////
running your fingers through my face,
I remembered my grandmother, her signature,
I couldn't move an inch but breathe,
the jasmine fragrance that drew makes sense,
the golden-colored side clip on your hair makes sense,
the presence humming,
it's okay; the light will carry you.
////
As the curtains drew closer over a magical moment,
a person walked in, reminding me that it was time to close the store.
I gestured thank you to the salesperson, and I walked out, but before stepping out of the store,
I asked her, "Do you know the lady who played the piano?"
And she said, "Yes, she is a tourist like you. She walked in and asked if she could play, and it's been a week. This was the last play. She said she was leaving tonight."
I asked, "Do you have her name, card, or anything to connect?"
and she said, to her own surprise, "Oh Yeah!"
"I never asked her name."

Parvathi J
Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.
Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.

Awesome to read "Darkness does not last forever, dawn will come." And that dawn will bring laughter, peace, and the touch of that beloved person. Love, confidence, and trust in God— These three are life, right?
