Avalanche Game 14 Recap: Just What the Doctor Ordered
The Colorado Avalanche entered this new week coming off a very awful home loss to the St. Louis Blues, and now, the team looked to make up for their defeat while returning to the road to face off against a very familiar foe: the Seattle Kraken. This is the last meeting of the season between these two clubs; with the teams splitting the first two games. Not only were the Avs looking to win the season series against Seattle, they were also looking to do something that hadn't been done in weeks: score a goal on the road.

Avalanche Game 13 Recap: Unacceptable
After receiving our first home loss of this young season, the Colorado Avalanche looked to truly bounce back in the third and last game of this homestand. The team heading into Ball Arena was none other than the St. Louis Blues. This was a Division Rivalry game, and the Blues were in their first full season after the teardown that happened in the middle of last year. So the Blues were a wild card. The Avs' recent history with the Blues had been a good one, but this was a new season series. Even so, it is often fun when the Blues and Avalanche get together.

A Corporate Animal
Colleen Sampson couldn't believe what was happening. A bevy of employees were applauding her. The people who she once worked for were applauding her. The reason was a simple one: after just four years, Colleen ended up skyrocketed to the company's Chief Executive Officer position. She definitely had the credentials. Her work impressed many higher-ups, and even though the tenure wasn't quite long, Colleen's efforts were deemed to be more than enough to warrant this elevation.

Avalanche Game 12 Recap: 32 Seconds
The Colorado Avalanche won a crazy outing against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, and next up for the Avs was the Seattle Kraken. This was the second meeting of the season; the Avalanche defeated Seattle, 4-1, at Climate Pledge Arena. This outing was in Ball Arena, and the last time these two teams were at that very venue was on April 30, 2023--the night that the Avalanche were eliminated in Game Seven in the opening round.

110th Grey Cup Playoffs: Division Semifinals Recap
This season has gone by so, so fast! It seems like yesterday that I was counting down the days until the 2023 CFL season started, especially since the Toronto Argonauts would be the defending champions. Now, here it is, November has arrived, and it's playoff time in Canada! This time, however, the games are on Saturdays now. I guess the CFL finally decided that they didn't want to clash with the NFL, at least for the first two rounds anyway.

35 Years: A Look Into the "Chucky" Franchise
Today is an epic anniversary in the horror genre: 35 years ago today, Child's Play was released in theaters. This film was basically released on a wing an a prayer; little did anyone involved know that a film centering on a doll possessed by a serial killer would become this big time phenomenon that spawned six sequels, a reboot film, and a TV series that is still running now. Absolutely legendary!

Avalanche Game 8 Recap: Shuffle Off to Buffalo
As the saying goes, "You can't win 'em all," and the Colorado Avalanche found that out in Pittsburgh when the team was blanked by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The loss snapped a 15-game road winning streak, but even so, the Avalanche entered their latest contest already at 4-1 away from Ball Arena. The three-game East Coast swing concluded in Buffalo, as the Avs were facing off against the Sabres. The Sabres are expected to end their league-long playoff drought this season, but they are off to a shaky start. As for Colorado, they're looking to rebound off their first loss of the season.

History of the NFL Playoffs (Part II: The AFL and the Super Bowl - 1960s)
For the first 40 seasons of the National Football League's existence, the league stood as the primary source of pro football, with the league's standings determining which team is crowned as the NFL Champions for the first 13 seasons (1920-1932). The 1932 season ended with a tie atop the league standings between the Chicago Bears and the Portsmouth Spartans, leading to the two teams facing each other in a playoff game for the NFL Championship. The success of that game led to the NFL Championship Game being instilled on the following year, and from that point, the game was played between winners of the East and West Divisions (later the Eastern and Western Conferences).

Villainess Review: Ashley Fallon (Charmed)
Hard to believe that the original Charmed series is celebrating 25 years this month. I remember seeing the first promo for the series, which aired on The WB for eight seasons between 1998 and 2006. Originally, the series starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, and Alyssa Milano as a trio of sisters who discover that they come from a family of wiccans. The series was the last great brainchild of the iconic Aaron Spelling, and regarding the three stars, Doherty played the eldest sister, Prudence "Prue" Halliwell, Combs played middle sister Piper Halliwell, and Milano portrayed the youngest sister, Phoebe Halliwell.

Reviewing VC Andrews' Dawn (Part 1: "Dawn")
So this year, Lifetime is returning to the VC Andrews pool with their adaptation of the legendary author's Dawn series. As we all know, Andrews' most known work was, of course, Flowers in the Attic, and we've seen Lifetime air not only that adaptation, but the prequel series as well. I'm somewhat familiar with Andrews' work, though I've never read the books. I have watched the films, though, especially the Ruby series, which I absolutely loved!

Thank You, Willie O'Ree. Top Story - February 2023.
Funny story; a fear I had when watching hockey as a kid was that I wouldn't be able to find the puck, hence why I was grateful to the NHL on FOX for giving us the glow puck. I never thought I'd be into hockey as much as I am now. And no, it wasn't because I'm Black. Mainly, it was because I didn't have cable as a kid. Basketball, baseball, and football were available daily without cable, but hockey really wasn't. I followed everything via the sports section and only watched the All-Star Game because it was on a non-cable channel. When I got cable in 1997, I watched more hockey...way more.
