Shoot Me Now Or Shoot Me Later
My first song at work trying to survive it
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Verse One
Tried to get the help I needed
They don’t really care
They changed that P right to an L
And send me down in tears
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Verse Two
Lost my brain a long time ago
Could not find it anywhere
the crazy system of madness blows
Never seen again you know
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Verse Three
Going in the crazy circles
Never seems to end
Tried to escape this awful cage
With no way out instead
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Verse Four
The voice never seems to shut up
In the crazy maze of such
Headaches are as common in this way
Living in this crazy way
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Verse Five
A monster seems to come alive
In this crazy labyrinth
Turn myself into the minotaur
And destroy all of it
Chorus
Shoot me now or shoot me later
I don’t really care
Shoot me now or shoot me later
There’s madness in the air
Shoot me now or shoot me later
Shoot me now or shoot me later
This is my original song from work. I was working in a section that drove me absolutely nuts. It is a difficult time for me. Not one of the bosses wanted to listen to any problems either. It was both physically and mentally terrible. I eventually left that section but still have much distaste for that time. The days were long with many more songs, including my previous selection of All the World is on a String. Escaping that cage was the best thing and in a better place, but the bosses are still the same. This song, my personal anthem, became a powerful tool for me to express myself when others couldn't understand. It's a song I will never forget, and I often sing it to myself when decisions make no sense. I am glad to finish that section and hopefully never to return. The madness of doing something you hate so badly does have an adverse effect, but the songs, especially this one, were a soothing balm for my stress. This experience taught me the importance of expressing feelings, even when it seems no one is listening.
