Bear Men Chronicles Chapter 1

Death

A cloaked figure is surrounded by the skeletons and corpses of those he had taken life from. This was the norm for the ones in his position. Yet, there was something off, not right about this one.

This cloaked figure belonged to a certain group of Death Reapers called the Greys. The Greys, when they took away life from a living being, separated the bad from the good. The good was sent to whatever Paradise their soul was on the path for, and the bad to the Underground. The Greys only did this for specific people. Those who were lost, those who did not believe.

It had been rumoured that there was one Grey who had been taking life too early. That he was taking life from those he wasn’t allowed to take and saving the bad in his area of bodies. One day he was caught doing just that, with someone who was meant to go straight to the Underground. He ran for centuries, never to be found, staying away from his area.

The cloaked figure was there now. He was creating something out of all the evil he had been saving into something that only certain living things can control. Something that was out of everyone else’s control, and he made four of them, two different species of the same breed.

Just as the cloaked figure released them, the Spectre’s came to bring him to get Judgement.

Judgement

The Spectre’s are ethereal beings. They are neither here nor there, and belong to no religion. Yet, they do work for all religions and act as a justice system to keep everyone in check. They have been around since before the beginning of time.

Now, there were about 150 of them gathered in one room, with a 151st acting as the judge. They were gathered there today for the trial of the Rogue Grey. Not once, in all eternity had any Grey committed a crime of this nature. They were not allowed to collect souls or use them to create new beings. All of this he had done. Then there was the questioning.

Judge: Why have you done this? You know the rules!

Grey: It needed to be done.

Judge: You used a bear soul for them!

Grey: That is beside the point. The Bear Men needed to come into existence.

Judge: What did you call them?

Grey: Bear Men.

Judge: Who told you to create these demons?

Grey: I can not say.

This went on in circles.

After a long debate, the Grey was condemned to the deepest layer of the Underground, where he would not be able to escape for the rest of eternity, There now will come some form of justice. Even when the souls could not be retrieved, there would be justice.

Justice

“Where are the bear men?”

“I do not know.”

“I believe you are lying.”

“That is unfortunate.”

The Spectre’s had given the rogue an opportunity to tell them where the Bear Men were. They, rightfully, believed they were dangerous. The rogue had spent weeks, weeks, in the jail cell located in the temporary prison called The Inferno.

The Inferno was a hated place. The conditions were horrendous for a holding place, rarely used. Only the entities up for the courts were held here.

The Spectre that was questioning him was visibly angry. The only thing holding him back were the two Skulled Protectors in the jail hall. The Skulled Protectors were also Reapers, but served as security,

“If you aren’t going to tell us anything of significance, you are going to be sent to the bottom layer of the Underground. Forever.”

The rogue grey screamed screamed at the Skulled Protectors transported him there. The Bottom Layer was the worst and final layer, and there the rogue will stay.
