Profane souls walking on land of despair

Worldly Minds

By Adeela AmeerPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

Life is weirdly unpredictable, like you never know what is going to happen in the very next 24 hours. You never know if you are going to meet someone unexpectedly, someone that you’ve desired to meet for long long years or someone you loath so much that you never wish to see them or maybe someone you never met before but is going to be the center of your next life. You never know if you’re going to bed tonight or down the dust. You never know if you’re gonna find one of your best friends stabbing you in back or you might going to get stuck with the toxic one.

You never know if you’re meeting someone for the very last time and the next time you’ll see them will be them being in a coffin surrounded by people on their funeral, shedding tears and wishing on one last encounter atleast having a farewell conversation with them reciprocating you. We don’t know where fate will take us tomorrow or maybe the very next moment and still we never take a step towards gratefulness. We are less down to cherish being surrounded by good people. Very less likely to cherish being lucky enough of having your mom, dad and siblings around you, having enough to feed your family and yourself enough, having good friends that support you and be with you no matter what, having a healthy body, having your beloved with you and what not and still we are more discontent having distrust in hearts.

What are you people running and dying behind? behind dollar and dime! Don’t you see dime and power slowly eating you? What is the bulk of money going to do when your soul will be saying goodbye to your body? Ok lets suppose that you’re broke. Gratefulness never comes with money and never goes without it. We’re all taught to live in this materialistic world with money oriented goals. In some cases, girls are taught to catch rich suitors and parents do find them one and the rest of the generation is taught to to look for a profession that makes them enough money- uh NO NO!! make the most you can make. Be a doctor, don’t care for miserable patients or the poor ones who can’t meet your charges or go be an engineer or a deceiving journalist or an unfair teacher or maybe an athlete. Don’t care if you don’t wanna be these, you have to. Just go make some extra cash! made? okay make more.

We sit there and we complain that life isn’t good enough. We’re anxious for not having the latest “toy” we haven’t got the latest handbag or car. But why are we eager to have lavish big-budgets? for pleasure and fulfilment? because there is a hole? something’s incomplete? or maybe there’s some kind of lack in life. You have everything that a rapacious can dream of. You buy expensive stuff in attempt to fill that hole but it’s never filled. That bloody hole is still there! Why is it there? why is it never filled? what is the hole? I guess it’s the dreams that you left behind because they told you that your dream or passion can’t pay your bills. They don’t tell you the entire truth. Lives are being hurt. Mindless soul!! Hang on… can you not hear the lies? You eat yours soul stupid and head to the pseudo world. but they never told you the truth that holy grail can actually fill your soul with gratitude and pleasure. Pick up this rubble that you have left in land of passion and desire.

I sometimes wonder why joy is dwindling? We are mindless souls that walk this place what they call earth. We don’t love the good and plentiful things that are STILL there and slowly one by one it’s all disappearing. We watch it all slip away. No Gratitude!! No Appreciation! No!! What if your unvalued friend passes out today? What if you find out that your beloved has gone forever? What if you’re told that you’ll never be able to meet one or both of your parents from now? You still walk on. Rude and Careless.

We just never know what the future has in store for us and no one wants bad things to happen to them. Next time you sit and complain about “not having enough” consider those struggling folks that have nothing. May be that could help to fill gratitude… and to realize that being any kind of happy is better than being miserable about something you can’t have.
