How Often Are the Sheets in the Love Island USA Villa Replaced? Here's What Really Happens

With season seven of Love Island USA heating up, fans are left wondering just how often the villa’s bedsheets are changed—especially with all the activity happening under the covers.

Let’s finally settle this debate, and the others as well!

The villa beds are getting plenty of action in Love Island USA's seventh season, therefore viewers are curious: how frequently are those sheets actually being swapped out? Luckily, past Islanders have given some insight into this very topic.

Kenny Rodriguez—who came in third place alongside girlfriend JaNa Craig in season six—told E! News in August 2024, “I’d like to believe they’re changed daily by the staff. The crew in Fiji was amazing. They made it feel like home.”

Kordell Beckham echoed that sentiment, stating, “As far as I could tell, they were changed every time we woke up.”

But not everyone was convinced.

“They say they do it every day,” Kaylor Martin recalled, “but I don’t think that’s true. I’d wear perfume to bed and smell it the next morning—it was the same scent. So who knows how often they really did it. That’s a little concerning.”

Still, Kaylor reassured viewers: “They were changed at some point. We weren’t living in filthy conditions.”

Good thing, too, because this season’s contestants—including Chris Seeley and Huda Mustafa, along with former duo Cierra Ortega and Nic Vansteenberghe—have certainly kept the beds busy.

Meanwhile, The Villa Drama Continues…

When Cierra was suddenly removed from the show in the July 6 episode after controversial old social media posts surfaced—posts we have not independently verified—fans were left stunned.

After her departure, recently eliminated Islander Zak Srakaew shared details during a TikTok livestream.

“When Cierra left, producers brought us all together,” Zak explained. “They told us she violated some policies and that she wouldn’t be returning. That was all they said.”

Zak also commented on how Nic—who has since paired up with Olandria Carthen—reacted to Cierra’s removal.

“Nic was definitely upset,” Zak shared. “But he couldn’t fully process it or react until he understood what actually happened or what was said.”

We are also wondering what it could all be about!

How Episodes of Love Island USA Are Produced So Quickly

Thanks to 85 hidden cameras, the production team captures endless footage to condense into a daily hour-long episode.

Footage from Monday is edited late into the night to become Tuesday’s episode—and the cycle continues.

The time difference helps: Fiji, where the U.S. version has been filmed since season five, is 16 hours ahead of the East Coast. This gives the production crew a few extra hours to fine-tune each episode.

“The islanders wake up, and the control room starts assigning scenes based on the action,” executive producer Claudine Parrish told The Wrap in 2024. “Something like, ‘Guys make breakfast for girls’ is filmed, and within 15 minutes, it's already in editing.”

The team is massive: about 30 editors and 20 producers, with a story department figuring out which scenes fit into the ongoing narrative.

Still, Parrish acknowledged that not every storyline pans out. “Sometimes what we think is compelling fizzles. We always ask ourselves, ‘Is this really going somewhere?’”

Viewers suggested they draw insight from famous travel experts to plan their activities even better. Well, we don’t know if they haven’t tried that already.

What’s on the Menu for Love Island USA Contestants?

Breakfast is the star meal on Love Island USA, especially with the guys tasked with making it for the ladies—something fans love watching.

But what about lunch and dinner?

Since food isn’t the focal point of the show—unless it’s a disaster pancake or someone’s first omelet—it tends to stay behind the scenes. But it’s there.

“There are no menus,” Love Island UK season four winner Dani Dyer told HELLO! in 2021. “It’s catering style. You make breakfast yourself—eggs, bacon, toast, the usual.”

Season eight’s Luca Bish said in a 2023 TikTok that he had “no idea” who was behind the cooking. “Some mystery chef in a tent,” he joked. Meals just appeared.

Bish wasn’t a fan: “I mostly ate hummus and crisps for lunch and dinner.”

Why the Men and Women Don’t Eat Together on Love Island

Several past contestants have revealed that the male and female Islanders dine separately—except on official dates.

“We eat with producers,” season three’s Olivia Attwood told The Sun in 2022. “It’s like boarding school. They’ll remind us about chores, laundry days, or ask what we want for breakfast.”

And much like jury duty, no case talk is allowed.

“It’s weird,” season eight’s Samuel Agbiji told Closer in 2024. “You want to talk about everything going on, but you can’t—it could ruin the storyline.”

Is Alcohol Limited in the Villa?

Despite appearances, Love Island contestants aren’t getting drunk on the regular.

They’re limited to one drink per evening—either wine, bubbly, or beer.

Season four’s Phoebe Siegel said in a 2024 TikTok that even the wine pours were “barely generous.”

If there’s ever an “open bar” vibe—like during Casa Amor celebrations—Siegel claimed the drinks were heavily diluted.

Meet the Voice Behind Love Island: Iain Stirling

Iain Stirling is the cheeky voice of both the UK and USA versions of Love Island. His schedule is tight.

“I start on the UK show at noon,” he told TODAY in 2024. “It’s nearly done by then. We write for a few hours, then I do kid stuff—dinner, bath, bedtime. Then at 8:30 p.m., I start work on the U.S. version.”

He watches a rough cut over Zoom and records narration from home. Executive producer Claudine Parrish told The Wrap that Stirling’s voiceovers are mostly jokes or story recaps.

Once his audio is laid in, the episode goes to Peacock’s legal team—who sometimes request last-minute edits.

“We’d usually wrap by midnight or 1 a.m.,” Stirling said. “Sometimes I’d stay up till 3:30 a.m. And even then, the U.S. episode wouldn’t be finished.”

Fun fact: Stirling married former Love Island UK host Laura Whitmore in 2020. They had a daughter in 2021.

The Music of Love Island USA: How It’s Picked

From the intro beat of Janelle Monáe’s “Make Me Feel” to the dramatic slow-mos, Love Island’s soundtrack is a vital part of the show.

“When I first saw Love Island UK, I thought, ‘This is a new level of storytelling,’” executive producer James Barker told Rolling Stone in June 2025. “Pop music adds emotion in a way other shows don’t.”

That means planning months ahead. Music clearance teams work behind the scenes to secure tracks from artists like Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, and Olivia Rodrigo.

“We prep hundreds—sometimes thousands—of songs,” Barker said. “So we’re ready for any moment: breakups, kisses, drama—whatever the story brings.”

Do Islanders Listen to Music in the Villa? Not Really.

Although music sets the tone for viewers, Islanders themselves don’t hear much of it while in the villa.

That’s partly due to legal complications and also to make sure nothing interferes with dialogue being picked up by mics.

There are exceptions—challenges, dance parties, or car rides where the driver plays music—but otherwise, the villa stays quiet.

Hair, Nails, and Makeup on Love Island: How It Works

To keep everyone camera-ready, the villa is stocked with makeup and skincare products—though contestants can bring their own, brand names are blurred out in editing.

For bigger touch-ups, professionals are brought in.

“Every two or three weeks, we’d get our hair and nails done,” said Love Island UK alum Lucie Dolan in 2021. “The nights are long in there—you need a break.”

On their off-day (Saturday, when no episode airs), contestants get beauty treatments. Former host Laura Whitmore told OK! that’s when lashes and acrylic nails are refreshed.

In earlier seasons, Islanders were taken off-site—but now, the show keeps everyone inside the villa bubble.
