THE STORY CONTINUES Tony Yayo Speaks On Altercation With Ja Rule On Flight! "He's Lucky 50 Cent Wasn't There"
The rapper and underboss details the events on the flight.
If anyone should be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, it would go to Marvin Bernard bka Tony Yayo. This man has held down 50 Cent and crew for decades. He’s the Memphis Bleek to Jay-Z. Or maybe he’s like Ty Ty. Either way, he cleared up a minor altercation on a Delta flight in first class. He and Uncle Murda sat right next to Ja Rule. The latter asked the former “Yo, we good?” to which Yayo and company responded incredulously. Without a melee, Ja Rule gets to his feet and starts barking. Meanwhile, Uncle Murda is recording all of this on video.
Yayo says he goes viral without even trying. His way of conducting business is as a gentleman and should be regarded as such. His way of assessing a situation and taking into account that this was a super public display in front of a number of people made him not humble but wise. He still claims that if 50 Cent had been on that flight, this would have been a totally different scenario.
He also breaks down caviar pancakes and black sands, just rich N–– stuff. But he explained to Vlad that he had been considering whether Ja would have been so aggressive had he brought his designer luggage instead of his medium brand wares.
The whole point of the video still remains that Yayo didn’t want to knuckle up in front of all those white people. This is Black History Month and people of color ought not be acting like coons on a flight. Or anywhere for that matter. The occurrence should be contained to that one shred of reckless behavior on Ja Rule’s part. When he started to get up and shout, that was already a sign that he had been a bit peeved at the fact Yayo hasn’t sold close to the amount of albums Ja Rule has yet, they sat so close together in the air.
That was probably a reality check for Ja. While other rappers of his platinum-selling caliber fly in Gulfstream aircraft, he flew on the first class of a commercial airline. That truth must have seeped into his mind as he took his seat. Then, when he rose up, he must've been able to create a scenario in his mind that said “I’m tough, too.”
In the midst of the confusion, Yayo remained calm and Murda seemed to be cool as the bottom of the freezer. They continued throughout the entirety of the flight just recording in the latter. The best part of the entire video is when Yayo points out that Ja Rule was easily shaken.
To contend with the facts is one thing. You can fight the truth all you want, but Ja Rule and 50 tension will always go down as the preeminent beef for all times. And Yayo is that real type who has set the tone for holding down a boss. That’s what makes the power of dealing out justice in the rap realm so special. There is an understanding of what not to do and how to conduct oneself in situations like Yayo found himself in on that Delta journey.
With the trials and travails that Tony Yayo has gone through over his lifetime, he’s always stayed loyal to 50 because of the bond as grown men that they share. It is known that their friendship is akin to Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan. Everyone might say that he’s second fiddle, but without his tune, 50 may have never been the megastar who challenged the world. As it happened, Yayo expressed the idea that 50 should’ve been there.
