Indoor Activities the Whole Family Can Enjoy
No matter what kind of family you have, big or small, rowdy or reserved, there's plenty of activity choices that can bring everybody together.

Now more than ever, families need a way to unwind and blow off some steam together—and many are looking for activities they can do while staying indoors. With most of us still choosing to stay home or practice social distancing when out, it’s so important to find things we can do together that are safe and fun for everybody. Here are some ideas to try with your family:
Family Yoga Session
Yoga is beneficial for the body and the mind. You might get some resistance from some or all family members when trying to introduce them to yoga for the first time. But once you get everybody doing it and show them just how good it can make them feel, they just might fall in love with this ancient practice. There are several free instructional yoga videos you can find online that are great for any age.
Cooking or Baking Lessons
Nothing can be more practical and valuable to a child than taking their first foray into the culinary world with a parent. One of the things that all people have in common is that we all have to eat, and a huge part of adulthood is learning how to feed yourself. You can make your kids' lives so much easier later down the line and help set them up for success just by teaching them these skills. You might be surprised how much fun it can be—as long as you're not afraid of getting a little messy! Look for kid-friendly cooking lessons in your neighborhood or opt to fire up the oven at home.
Indoor Shooting Range Experience
If your kids are a little older, introducing them to a new and exciting activity could be just what they need to get out all that pent-up energy. Consider a thrilling experience at an indoor shooting range! The friendly instructors will go over all the safety rules and guidelines to help you and your kids feel comfortable and safe. It’s also a great exercise that helps kids feel more confident and gives them a sense of accomplishment by learning a new skill. Just keep in mind that most indoor shooting ranges require children to be 12 or older.
Indoor Miniature Golf
Looking for something you can do with younger kids as well? Indoor mini-golf is a great activity to get your children out of the house that perfect for all ages. You won’t have to worry about cold or wet weather because these indoor mini-golf courses are climate-controlled. As a bonus, some venues have an arcade also!
Family Game Night
Technology has taken over so much of our lives. It's nice when everybody can unplug, gather around a table and a game board, select a little plastic piece, draw some cards, and have way more fun than any amount of scrolling could ever give you. You don't even have to have a commercial board game or deck of cards to call a game night. Charades requires practically no materials except for a pen and paper to write ideas on and a hat to draw them out of. Hide and seek is another classic that will never lose its appeal.
Bowling
Bowling is another indoor activity that is ideal for families looking to have some fun. Most bowling alleys have kid-sized bowling balls and can even put up gutter bumpers so your little one can get it all the way down the lane. For older kids, consider some friendly competition and challenge each other for the best score. Siblings can team up with mom or dad to make it a little more interesting!
Do a Puzzle Together
Puzzles are both relaxing and stimulating for many people. If you have a family full of puzzlers, few things can be more rewarding than seeing your hard work steadily come together piece by piece. This is a great group activity because everyone can work on their own section of the puzzle—or it can be a total free-for-all.
Have a Family Movie Night
What's better than bonding over a classic comedy or new film that everybody can get into? The key to this activity is finding something to watch that everybody can agree on. As long as you're making movie night a regular thing, though, it's easy to set up a rotation so everybody's favorite flick gets its turn on the big screen.
No matter what kind of family you have, big or small, rowdy or reserved, there's plenty of activity choices that can bring everybody together. Games like these are great for rejuvenating the mind, getting you ready to face whatever life throws at you next. Perhaps more importantly, they also strengthen familial bonds. It might just seem like one Saturday night's entertainment, but it leads to memories that will stick with you and your kids for a lifetime.
