She Inspired Her

I'd like to vote for my adult daughter Crystal Emmanuel who is the Editor of www.SheInspiredHer.com – an exciting, fast-moving, dynamic, inspiring, nurturing platform for women in business and for female entrepreneurs.

Crystal is a beautiful woman of many talents. She is bestowed with exceptional visual beauty, yet always presents to the world of her audiences and clients in the most humble and grounded form.

She is creative across all fields of her experiences, from singing to song writing as a female performing artist; from acting to cameo roles as an actress and model and from running her businesses to writing her blogs and guest articles.

She has always been very artistic and sophisticated in her delivery across all her roles and service delivery. She is dedicated and on point when she has work commissioned and always delivers to the highest quality and on time. She is open and transparent yet very intellectual in her endeavours.

I am her mother, also running a service independently and we often work together and for each other throughout parts of the year, in the UK and abroad, which really works well, is ever interesting and fast-paced and is so complementary and cool. Crystal is the middle child of three children, born and raised in East London and of British Caribbean origin.

I am very proud of her big heart and grassroots community support. She delivers 'Santa for the Homeless in December of each year by receiving 100's of donated coats, jackets, gloves, clothes, toiletries and sanitary towels; wrapping these with volunteers and then delivering them to Newham and Southwark based street homeless people.

Crystal does everything for her platform from interviewing women in business and entrepreneurship; highlighting powerful leaders and in supporting and encouraging emerging talent. She creates weekly original content for her audience of women including advice articles, promotions pieces, amazing grant opportunities for SME's to her tips for small businesses on a range of subjects.

I am especially nominating Crystal because since the Covid-19 pandemic I have watched her shift her ultimate focus rapidly, spending hours crafting away and completely dedicating herself to posting and writing daily content on the platform to help her audience. This has meant adapting her content to cater for women losing their jobs and her creating more job opportunity posts; advising women who need money where to get self- employment and other grants and interim benefits from the UK government, to tips & tricks about creating their own products, such as hand sanitizer in a period when hoarding and panic buying ensued.

Examples of the changed and poignant focus are articles that recognise that for some people ‘lock down’ signifies social isolation and challenges to mental wellbeing and mental health, such as ‘Calm is offering a 'calm masterclass, some 'soothing meditations', and also 'calm kids' alongside some great mindfulness resources. She has been able to provide advice, information and signposting for many of her readers who have disrupted travel as well as support anxious carers and parents looking for ways to get shopping and essentials through online and click and collect.

One of the most amazing articles and one that draw thousands of clicks and 100s of comments to her was on home-made hand sanitizer, which also enabled positive promotion for the small female business-woman. The clicks since this have seen an enormous upsurge from people across the world and the feedback has been amazing towards her and about the platform. Crystal is always humble in her encouragement and engagement others, including myself.

Crystal certainly inspires others and is genuinely inspired to post and assist in any way that her followers are requesting. She inspires me as her mother, a friend, her business peer, to keep forging ahead, to never give up, to aspire for higher heights and to give to others genuinely and whole-heartedly.
