A Letter to Mighty Man

And His Dog Yukk

By David E. PerryPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Dear Mighty Man

Or do you just use Brandon now? You probably don’t remember me, seeing that it’s been a long time. My name is Avery Weakman. You saved my life a number of times. Of course, you’re thinking that you saved a whole lot of people. I was the one you had to come back to for the most.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your dear partner in crime, or should I say partner in crime fighting, Yukk. He was always well loved by everyone that knew him. He will be missed dearly. I wanted to attend the funeral, I really did, but at the time I was tied to a train track. Dick Dastardly was up to his same old tricks. I understand why you were not there to rescue me. Fortunately, Plastic Man was there in your place. He’s no Might Man, but he got the job done.

What saddened me even more was the news that you are retiring. Now is the worst time for you to hang up your cape. We need you now more than ever. I would like to remind you of some of the victories you enjoyed while saving me in the process.

Do you remember when Sanfon Vulch created that evil monster, Glop. If it wasn’t for you, I would have been eaten by that thing. But you stopped him. I don’t know if I ever got the chance to thank you for that. Thanks. Sanfon Vulch was not able to hurt the city ever again.

Also, if it wasn’t for you, Krime Klown would have had me working for the circus for the rest of my life. It wouldn’t have killed me, unless I got eaten by the lion, but you did save my social life. When Time Keeper and his henchmen paused time to rob the bank, the could have got away with my life’s savings. But you stopped them. Who know what would have happened. And when Baby Man and his henchwomen started making people act like babies, I couldn’t take going through a 2nd childhood. My first one was rough enough. But you saved me. Then, when Baron Brute stole an amnesia machine, well, I don’t remember what happened. I only remember that you were there. You were always there. I thank you for that.

Now there is a problem. A huge one. Sanfon Vulch, Krime Klown, Time Keeper, and Baby Man, are all now in the same nursing home. It’s the same one that my grandmother is in. She has told me of all the horrible things that this quintet is doing. Separate, they were each very menacing. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with.

The other day, when I was visiting grandma, I went to give her a hug when suddenly, Glop was in front of me. I was able to get away and search for her. I found her locked in the closet. Another time, half the elderly people were acting like babies while the other half were acting like circus performers. When they all started acting like themselves again, neither of them could remember that anything was ever wrong.

These 5 villains are terrorizing the nursing home with practical jokes. Please, stick around for one more fight. I beg you to put these characters in their place. Do not allow that place to be the same place where my grandmother is staying. They would be much better off in a place with bars. Maybe padded walls would be nice also. (They are crazy.)

Please hurry. My dear grandma can’t handle another one of these attacks. Not at her age. Please, don’t hang up your cape.

Yours Truly:

Avery Weakman

P.S. Congratulations on the birth of Yukk’s Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandson. Bring him also. I’m sure he has the gift. He comes a long line of Yukks. A face like that can stop anyone.
