A Visit To My Mind Mansion

What Happened In My Head Last Night

Introduction

I wrote a story for the Vocal "Maps of the Self" Challenge, which you can read here:

The music is "Windmills Of Your Mind" by Doroth Ashby

What Happened There

I had an apartment or rooms in the mansion, and there were other rooms/apartments full of students. My place was reached by a steel lift that was full of reflections (memories?), and I flitted between an office and my Mind Mansion.

At some point, I met a lady with a dog from the lift, but that is my only recollection of her.

Then I was in my laboratory, with glass containers, test tubes, Bunsen burners, and a Van der Graaf Generator that was automatically sparking, but there was no one I could see near it.

My Mind Mansion has a central open area so I can see the students gathered and partying in their apartments across the way.

I had books strewn about, but I don't remember a bookcase. However, I am sure I have several. If you have books you need to store, a bookcase would be a great solution, allowing you to find them easily.

My Mind Mansion has given me this story as I wander its rooms and corridors, even though there are many others here today, but I know that other days I will be alone.

Already, other ideas are falling into place.

It seems that your Mind Mansion is your way of organizing your thoughts and ideas of whatever is forming your work. Good job.

You flitted? Wow. This description is great. It's making me so excited for the rest. Coming from your precious work, the one you linked, I could've never imagined that description. Why? Because I couldn't have come up with it. A lady with a dog. I love the flash of the subjects already. The story is becoming more visual. Vibrant. More moving. Amazing! I love the laboratory musing. Especially with the mystery. Not being able to see anyone near it. Mike. I am overjoyed with this piece. It's very inspiring. The perfect piece if anyone is having writers block. If I sadly fall into that. Which I probably will. This is the one I am coming back to. Your confidence. I can see it shining in this one too, and I am so here for it. 🤗❤️
