Hundreds of years ago, there lived a man who walked the lands, swam the seas, flew through the skies, and traveled time. No one knew his name, yet many knew his face. Some called him an angel. Others considered him alien. But none of those was he.

In the mountains near earth’s center, there once lived a woman so enamored with the earth that when she came of age, rather than marrying, she pledged herself to him.

Delighted, he showered her with gifts. She no longer hungered or thirst, nor did she sleep. She healed herself, and had eternal beauty.

But such gifts were costly. Soon, those around her noticed and became envious. To ravage her ablities, they captured; tortured; and experimented on her. But she healed, physically, as fast as pain was inflicted. No secrets of hers were found . Thereupon, they banished her.

In anguish, the woman trekked until her soul could go no farther. With her heart forsaken, one night, the woman begged the earth to let her go. He wouldn't. However, he freed her.

He shook ferociously and his rocks fell from the mountains, destroying the village and its people. His skies rained down a river mirroring the woman’s tears and carried her into the sea. There he embraced her and her soul left her body. She then became the spirit of the seas. Yet, her body still remained. So the earth transformed it into their son. Adan Mar--whose gifts were greater than his mother’s and matched his father’s.

Thereafter, Adan slept-- the only sleep he'd ever know-- and drifted the seas until sailors "saved" him. Though truthfully, Adan was cradled in his mother’s arms, awaiting a world he’s cursed to search for beginnings he’ll never find.
