Bring Owls to Athens:
State vs Wisemann
“Wisemann your a real wise ass!
I see you have a history of setting fires. Did you think your little arson stunt would go unnoticed?” The detective on Owl of Athens case, eased into the interrogation.
“I wasn’t brought up in the woods, to be scared of owl’s,” Wisemann replied with aggression as he let spit fly into the detectives face.
Detective Solomon gripped the metal table and wiped the saliva away. He remained calm taking in a deep breath before proceeding.
“Now let me ask you, again were these barns in normal town abandoned ? Or is there going to be human remains hiding in the ashes? Salmon asked firmly.
“Aren’t you, the one getting paid to piece together the narrative?” His handcuffs clanked against the metal table. As he let out a shallow laugh.
Wisemann’s representative huddled him in, explaining, “If bodies are uncovered, you will be facing multiple felony charges. Parole hearings will not be swayed in your favor. His defense lawyer was starting to fidget anxiously with her file. As she could predict based on how he responds. Wether the case she made for her client could cumble.
“I know my Miranda’s…” he answered overconfident in a southern drawl.
Month prior to his arrest, Wisemann was a function leader taking adults as a group on a owl prowl outinging. He was charming and knowledgeable of Athens Georgia history.
The first fire he set was accidental from a cigarette bud tossed in the dry grass. The volunteer firefighters that responded loss their lives from smoke inhalation.
Wisemann took another group out to a haunted barn, where he knew Barn owls nested. As he saw many swoop down catching field mice and chickens prior to the outing.
That’s where Wisemann caught the eye of Athena Smart. Her eyes full of curiosity, offset and almond shaped.
She took nighttime nature photos of the barn owls resting on the rafters. She heard the scurrying of mice. The owl screeched swooping down along side her, the wings brushed her arm; like a shiver.
His attraction for her bordered obsession. He watched her read his love notes, and the half grin of uncomfortableness she displayed . This gesture had given Wisemann false hope.
Athena put the notes in her jacket pocket and stared out the weathered barn wood window. The letters fell from her pocket.
Wisemann saw the well thought-out limericks lay on the dusty planks forgotten. Her carelessness enraged him. On that night, the two stood in the entry of the barn the yelling echoed in the empty space. The tin roof lifts, exposing the nightsky as lightning stuck the overgrown pasture.
He went in for a kiss, and Athena pushed away his advances. Deterred by her response;he crumpled up the paper, and deliberately tossed it in her face.
Athena was taken aback, and before she could defend herself. Wisemann slides the barn door track closed. Simultaneously latching the bolt forcibly.

He poured out his whiskey flask like a rain cloud. Then stumbled to his vehicle like owl in an ivy bush. Wisemann pulled out the cigarette lighter, and without on ounce of remorse- He set the barn ablaze with Athena Smart inside. Her film and optical lens caught fire instantly.
As the evidence stacked against him.

Wisemann had now morally crossed the line from harmless accident to premeditated manslaughter.
Though he did not seem nervous about the approaching conviction. His demeanor is like a feather in his cap.
You got me, detective , “I am a fraud!” answers smugly.
“You think you are so sly, evidence will speak for itself, and you will be buried!” Detective Solomon swore waving his finger accusatorially.
“Hoot, hoot,” he mocks cracking his neck impulsively.
In 2020 arson offenses were 39,000 plus in the United States alone.
1st degree arson: Depending on the amount of damages or loss of human life, can have serve a life sentence.
