With rattled breath, he manages a smile while taking in the sight.

Dust from wheat fields rose gently in the sky. Rays of sunlight burst forth, piercing through the dusky haze. Warm vivid colors blending as one large cloud, infused with a reddish hue.

He loved this land.

His hands tremble, his mouth dry, it hurts to swallow. A lone cry of an Osprey drew his eyes upwards, to the heavens.

Caring hands press against his chest. While crimson life flows freely from the young soldier, nurturing the soil of his homeland.
