I heard Nina crying in the kitchen. When she was younger, she’d start bawling if her toast were cut wrong. But this was quiet, frustrated sobbing.
I approached her gently. “What’s wrong, Love?”
“I don’t know how to write this. It’s stupid.” She shoved her notebook across the table.
“Is this for school?”
“No.”
“You’re writing it for fun?”
She nodded.
“How long have you been working on it?”
“I just started.”
“Oh, that’s just the first draft. It’s not supposed to be good. Just get those ideas down. You can change it later.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, that’s how it’s done.”

Robin in Flight
Robin kicked herself for letting her passport expire. She’d wanted to escape to somewhere more exotic but had to settle for a flight to Miami. From there she could figure out the rest. One step at a time. It had been about an hour since takeoff and the flight attendants were coming down the aisle with pretzels and drinks. Robin very politely asked for some ginger ale to soothe her upset stomach. It wasn’t motion sickness, but something else. Fear? Anxiety? Paranoia?

Omggg I was literally Nina when I started writing again last year. And I told myself that my first draft doesn't have to be perfect at all. So I just type with mistakes and typos. Then I work over the span of a week tinkering it. I loved your story!
