Inspired By The Painting "Slumbering Spring" By Angie Livingstone (The Glittering Fox)
Introduction
Angie Livingstone is an amazing artist and has provided me with inspiration for many of my stories. I look at her work and think this could keep me going for a long time, and she still keeps producing amazing artwork, which you can get from her Etsy store.
This particular work seems, to me, to depict a rabbit waiting for Spring to come.
The music is "The Waiting" by Tom Petty, I think you know why.
This is a very short fable inspired by the painting.
The Lost Rabbit
The winter rabbit sat under the tree in the snow. The rabbit wandered throughout the winter months because they had lost their friends, who they knew were sleeping and warm with the Spring Goddess waiting for her to wake, melt the snow, and bring warmth and rebirth to the Earth.
The rabbit sat in the cold waiting.
This tree seemed special, the rabbit thought it was a silver birch, but that could have just been the snow and rime on the branches and bark.
When the rabbit looked up, the snowflakes falling through the branches sparkled like stars lit by the moonlight.
The winter rabbit had been lost but now had found where it would find the Spring Goddess and their friends amid flowers and sunshine when the Spring Goddess woke once again.
This would happen every year, the winter rabbit would get lost, find the tree to wait by unto the Spring Goddess awoke and the winter rabbit would become the spring rabbit.

The painter skillfully uses soft colors and blurred brushstrokes to create a dreamy atmosphere. The sunlight shines through the leaves and falls on the ground, forming mottled light and shadows, as if telling the message that nature is awakening again.
