"Breaking News: Inmate Jake Foster has escaped from the United States Penitentiary in Victorville. Foster was charged with the murder of his wife and two children. Foster is 6 ft 5 in, 220 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. If you see anyone that fits this description, don't hesitate to get in touch with your local authorities..." tv starts to slowly fade in the background as the director of the FBI shuts off the tv.

"As you can see, this is important that we find this person and bring Justice back. We don't know how he escaped, but it is impressive. I know you haven't had an opportunity to take the lead, but I want you to investigate and find Foster, Detective Spell." Director said as he poured himself a drink.

Detective Spell: " Sir, I will get on it. Do we have any idea how he escaped?"

FBI Director: We have no clues. Chances are he escaped through the sewer, or he had some inside help. See what you can find.

Meanwhile:

At a truck stop in the middle of Apple Valley, CA. Jake Foster stands outside with his orange jumpsuit, knowing he must change quickly. At the back of the building was a duffle bag that was hidden. He opened the bag to reveal clothes, a hat, a passport, a gun, and $10,000 cash. He changed and walked into the truck stop to grab some food. On TV, the news was blaring about the escape of Jake Foster. He watches the tv to see what they are going to say. The person behind him says, "Can you believe someone escaped?"

Foster: Do you know who it was?

Person: It was supposedly this dirtbag named Jake Foster. He was charged with killing his wife and kids. He deserves to rot in Prison.

Foster: I heard he was innocent and was set up.

Person: Evidence led the government to believe that Foster did it.

The second person joined in and said: There is a theory that the local gang may have had something to do with it.

Foster said nothing paid for his drink and walked out. With no place to go, he is figuring out where to start. The only place that makes sense right now is to go home. He makes his way to what he knew before prison.

At US Penitentiary in Victorville:

Spell arrived to see a hole in the middle of the wall. A guard came out and greeted Spell.

"Detective, welcome; I am officer lance."

"Good evening, officer. Do you know what happened?" Spell asked as he reviewed the damage done.

"Inmate 4531 escaped via makeshift explosive and walked through the front door."

"Of course. His military background would help him escape. But why? Do you have the tape of the incident?"

"Yes, we do. Also, a couple of inmates who were close to Inmate 4531 told us that he believes he was set up. So he planned to find the person or people who did this."

Spell looked around, trying to figure out how and why a man would escape. With the damage done, there was a significant reason he would run and knew time was of the essence. Everything doesn't make sense. "Go ahead and send me the tape for review. I appreciate your help."

Spelled walked to his car, figuring out what to do next. Finally, he decided to go back to the crime scene that started all this.

At the Foster's Residence:

Jake drives past his home and sees the windows and door boarded up. It has been four months since the cruel crime. He parks two blocks away to avoid any suspicion. He walked to the front door and noticed floors and some stuffed animals left on the porch to honor his wife and two children.

As he kneeled, he held the stuffed animal and started to squeeze its head. A tear came down his face. His memory took him back to that night.

6 pm: Jake Foster finds himself at work filing paperwork. He sees a text from his wife wondering when he is coming home since dinner is almost dinner. So he texts back, saying he is on his way home. He was finishing the last paperwork.

At 8 pm: Jakes drives home to see the door wide open. He opened the glove compartment to grab his gun. He rushes up to see through the door. He sees his wife on the floor. He walks up the stairs to see his kids on the floor.

He snaps out of the memory to find his way into the house. He walks through the back and into the kitchen to see the layout of the body still there. No one has been at home since that night. He started to make his way around the kitchen to see if anything had been tampered with. He heard a car park.

Detective Snell gets out of the car to check if he missed anything. “Dispatch, this is Detective Snell. I am at 2422 Paint Ave checking the scene.” He put the walkie back in the car and made his way to the front door. He took the boards away from the door and made his way inside.

While Snell was looking in the living room, Jake made his way into a closet to hide. The detective looked at some residue he found on the floor. “I am not sure what happened here.” He went towards the closet and opened it. As he opened it, he was met with a kick that pushed him against the kitchen wall.

Jake came out assuming this man was part of killing his family. Snell got up, and before he could say anything, Jake swung at him. Snell blocked the punch with his elbow and swung back. Jake moved his head, grabbed Snell by the arm, and threw him against the wall. Snell turned around on his knees to get up, and Jake kicked him in the gut.

Jake walked towards Snell and pushed Jake. Jake fell against the wall. Snell got up and tackled Jake against the coffee table in the living room. Snell jumped on Jake and swung at him. He hit Jake once, but the second punch was blocked. Jake grabbed the arm and tossed him to the side. Snell reached for his gun and realized it wasn’t there.

Jake stood up with the gun in the face of Snell. “Who are you? Are you part of the guys who did this?”

Snell is on the floor with his hands up. “I am Detective Aidan Snell. I work for the FBI. I was assigned to your case.”

“What are you doing here? What are you doing at my house?”

“Something didn’t add up, and I was here to see if I find something that we missed the first time.”

“I didn’t kill my family. I was working. I will find who did, and I will get payback. This is your warning to stay out of my way.” Jake wiped the gun and dropped it at the feet of Snell. Jake disappeared, and the fear on the face of Snell said it all. He knew trouble was starting and that Jake was going to be trouble.
