Capturing Memories with Hipstamatic’s Classic Style
Showcasing My Photos: A Review of the Hipstamatic App

Many years ago, when Hipstamatic first came out in the app store and was free with no membership, I had the chance to use it frequently. Now, with a fantastic upgrade, you can still get this app, but there is a membership fee.
This original retro photography app gives you an easy analog film photography look to your photos. At your fingertips, you can, with a click of a button, access over 200+ vintage lenses, cameras, presets, and film types!
I have many subscriptions to various apps, and adding another one right now is not in the cards, but if I were to travel again, I would definitely purchase a subscription.
If you are interested, here are the membership fees for the Hipstamatic app.
- Hipstamatic Camera Club$29.99
- Hipstamatic Camera Club$7.99
- Hipstamatic Camera Club$19.99
Here are some cool images I captured with the original classic camera from Hipstamatic.

I loved that the app gave a selection of boarder edges to add to the vintage vibe.

With this photo, I used a golden light filter to make the water a warm hue and tone down the green tones.

I love the old 1950's style this photo was made with my hipstamatic. With choosing the lighting, vintage worn film, golden lighting, this gave a simple view of a table and view out to the water a classic allure.

I found these red grapes and wanted to capture a timeless charm of a vineyard.

With this photo, I used a 1960's camera filter to achieve the rich red tones that were on the buildings and blending it ton the lagoon.

I took this from the Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto), I wanted to make the clouds in the sky really part of the picture, so I went with a vintage polaroid frame and a timeless sepia filter.

With this image, I used a rainbow effect and rough board edging. As there were many colorful buildings, I wanted to create a retro scene.

One of my favorite pictures was this beautiful, captivating mask with huge white feathers casting down a hat. The dramatic, sensual craftsmanship of this mask was so overwhelming that I wanted to do it justice, so I chose a black-and-white filter with a simple Polaroid frame.

I loved that with this app, I was about to take a straightforward glass of iced tea and make it artistic. I photographed it using a slight angle and had a retro vintage lens and filter; this brought out the orange and brown hues of the tea.

I used a very cool filter for this pool scene that brought out the aqua blue patterns of the water.

I used a closeup lens to bring out the green hues and give that nostalgic feel we get at Christmas with this Christmas wreathe.

I love everything rustic and wanted to achieve a rustic western vibe with this picture of a Christmas wreathe on a barn. So I used a vintage lens with scratched film filter to capture this.

In winter, the sunsets are so vibrant and dramatic that when I was walking one evening, I saw an aqua blue sky with grey clouds. It wasn't very exciting, but the cloud pattern was unique, and I thought to myself, what not try a blue vintage filter and see what I would get? Well, this very cool teal and aqua sky was my answer.

The Lladro tango dancing couple sat by the window with the lace curtains in the back. The sun was lighting them perfectly, and I went to grab my iPhone to capture them. I used a vintage grunge filter that contrasted the elegance of their grace.

When it was springtime, I managed to capture some stunning vintage pictures of the flowering trees.
Here are a few more pictures that were taken using this app.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the Hipstamatic app that was used many years ago. I can't speak to what it's like now, but I can tell you this: If it could produce these stunning images from above, I bet it would blow away what it can do now, as it's still Editor's Choice on the app store for over a decade.
Thank you for reading.
