Grammy Awards 2026 live!
Stars will arrive on the red carpet this evening ahead of awards being handed out by Harry Styles, Charli XCX and Carole King

The historical GRAMMYS® air tonight for the final time on CBS. It is also the last hosting gig for six-time master of ceremonies Trevor Noah. So what will happen? Only a handful of acts this year, just like every year, will receive the golden gramophone like every other year. Scores will go home in 2026 without the coveted prize.
What does that do? When someone wins the prizes or loses? Does losing drive the loser to get back into the studio and concoct a new album or song or record that will blow away the competition and delight the members of the Recording Academy? Or do the winners find themselves in a slump trying to recapture the magic moment?
Whatever happens, it’s for entertainment and the spectacle. People either dress up or dress down for the awards show. While some will wear ten thousand dollar suits and evening gowns, others will be in ripped jeans and torn t-shirts.
The surprises of the night like when the late great Ol’ Dirty Bastard stole the show and proclaimed, “Wu-Tang Clan is for the children,” should have everyone wondering what’s going to happen next. What does all of this mean? Are these superficial accolades that don’t carry any currency or monetary value? What is the nature of going to the awards just to lose?
With all of this swirling around the heads of the nominees and onlookers alike, it’s important to keep things simple. There ought to be a succinct, clear, and stirring acceptance speech for the winners. The ones who don’t get an award should clap and accept their loss gracefully.
The morale of the room should be buoyant and cheerful despite any failures to grab that statuette. The television program should be like a mini-Super Bowl with flashy, thought-provoking, and hilarious advertisements. For those at the Crypto.com Arena, they should be glad they’re not in Minneapolis, Minnesota for more reasons than one.
More often than not, Noah will reference the ICE agents and what’s happening in the world. A lot of risque hosts like Nikki Glaser he is not. He’ll jab at the antics of artists, speak on the Epstein files most likely, and probably skewer President Trump. In his monologue he’ll work the room rubbing elbows with Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, if they all show up to the event.
If anything random or gauche should go down, it will be played off with music and handlers. Yes, there will be people to escort long speech makers off of the platform and for those who wish to crash the party like say Ye or Will Smith from other award shows, there will be beefy staff to handle them as well.
But it should be a light, springy night in temperate Los Angeles. While most parts of the country still sit in a deep freeze, the balmy 70º weather ought to encourage people to go West! At the outset of the night’s proceedings to the final award of the night, at least the participants won’t have to worry about slipping on ice or falling in the snow on their way to their seat.
What’s so enlivening is that all these acts from the roots of blues and classical music can converge to see what will happen when chords meet tonal shifts and notes kiss other notes. The gorgeous arrangement of musical styles all encased in one room ought to give wonder to how all these talented people got plucked and dropped into their designated seating area.
To some, a GRAMMY® has been decades in the making. To others, it only took their first single to obtain the gold. Is it really that meaningful, though? Is excellence even worth anything in this world anymore? It appears as if these awards shows bring a bit of light because of the fact they reward elan, grace, and power.
