Now that we are in the month of Valentine's Day, I thought it would be awesome to talk about my favorite horror movie couples. Some of these couples have gained a massive fanbase, and it's so cool to see how these romantic relationships were able to survive against insane supernatural forces, or were able to defeat psycho killers.

I guess love is truly a powerful force against all kinds of evil!

5. Helena and Valentine from Mirrormask

While this these never exactly got together, the potential romance between them was heavily implied. Valentine's devotion to Helena was out of this world, as he was willing to help a stranger, who had awaken in her own drawings, that had now come to life. He unfortunately does betray her for money, giving her up to the main villain.

Out of guilt and possible feelings for her, Valentine goes back to Helena, saving her and helping her escape from the villain. He sticks by her until the end, until she wakes up back into reality, where she is safely returned back home to her family. She runs into Valentine in her own reality, and they share a small moment, hinting that the two of them were most likely going to fall in love with each other.

The chemistry between Helena and Valentine was so hilarious to watch, the banter between them was so awesome, and I loved how much they cared for each other.

4. Tim and Millie from Together (2025)

This movie will prove whether or not you deserve to be with your partner. Millie and Tim are in a struggling relationship, as Tim's trauma with the loss of his parents is threatening to ruin them as a couple. Millie tries to be the strong one in the relationship, as she tries to help her boyfriend get by in life. They move to a new place, where they stumble upon a strange pool during a storm.

Once Tim takes a drink of the water, the two of them start to endure horrible pain, their bodies getting stuck together, (literally). They learn that a cult is located in the small town, and they merged with their partners to become one person, as a sign of true love. The couple eventually realizes their fate is unbeatable, unless one of them dies.

Millie and Tim decide to merge together, to prove their love for each other. They become one person, now known as Tillie.

This kind of love takes BALLS. Damn, this kind of sacrifice truly takes TRUE LOVE to dedicate an actual fusion with your own partner!

3. Thomas and Ellen from Nosferatu (2024)

In the recent remake of Nosferatu, I came to love Thomas and Ellen's relationship. Ellen had fallen upon an evil curse from an ancient vampire, but her love for Thomas kept her strong. After the couple endures severe pain, and their own friends begin to die, Ellen makes a sacrifice to save her husband from the same fate.

Ellen gives up her own life to the vampire, and the film ends with her death, as the beast drinks her blood all night. Thomas finds her in bed with the dead monster, and he touches her one last time, as she dies.

Her love for Thomas was so powerful, and my heart broke when she died. Even though Ellen was cursed, Thomas never gave a damn, and loved her for who she was.

Man, that ending was so tragic!

2. Elisa and the Fish Monster from The Shape of Water

This is in my opinion, Guillermo Del Toro's best film. The romance between these two characters was like the Disney version to Beauty and the Beast. Elisa works in a factory as a janitor, that is secretly doing an experiment on a fish monster. She helps the monster escape, and they grow a connection, the two of them falling in love.

The book to this story also strongly hints that Elisa could be a mermaid, because of her scars on the side of her neck. Apparently, she had been harmed as a child, and she lost the ability to speak. This implication does make sense, because toward the end of the film, the monster brings her back from the dead, and her scars become her gills to breathe underwater.

This one of the few good endings where I cried my eyes out, because it's one of the most romantic endings I have ever seen to a couple.

It makes me cry every time!

1. Ichabod Crane and Katrina from Sleepy Hollow (1999)

This is my most favorite horror couple of all time. There have been several versions of Sleepy Hollow, but the best version in my opinion is Tim Burton's version of the story. Ichabod Crane comes to the town of Sleepy Hollow to investigate several mysterious murders, and it's love at first sight when he meets Katrina Van Tassel.

The two of them form an innocent romance throughout the film, and Ichabod does whatever it takes to protect Katrina from the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow once he comes for her next. The fact that we never see them kiss is also insane, their chemistry was so great, and it is one of the most innocent romances I've seen in a horror film.

Watching them move away to the city together, adopting a kid who had lost his father, was such a wholesome ending for them. It was the perfect ending for the couple, who had been through so much in Sleepy Hollow.

What is your favorite horror couple?
