Dr. La Toya Mason Recognized for Transforming Trauma Into Faith Driven Leadership and Community Impact
Author, healthcare professional, and nonprofit founder honored for advancing empowerment, healing, and generational restoration

NORTH CAROLINA — Leaders whose work bridges faith, service, and entrepreneurship continue shaping how communities respond to trauma and generational hardship. Across sectors, women are redefining leadership through lived experience, structured support systems, and purpose driven outreach that strengthens families over time.
Among those being recognized for that impact is Dr. La Toya Mason, a distinguished leader, Amazon Best Selling author, entrepreneur, and advocate whose life’s work reflects healing, faith, and sustained service.
Dr. Mason will be honored on March 7, 2026 at the Women’s Empowerment and Awards Brunch Gala in Philadelphia, hosted by Droppin’ Jewelz LLC in support of Jewelz Foundation Incorporated. The event recognizes leaders across health, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and community development whose work uplifts women and strengthens families.
Raised in North Carolina, Dr. Mason’s journey from foster care to executive leadership has become a testimony of perseverance and restoration. Her early experiences shaped a deep commitment to serving women and children navigating trauma, instability, and generational cycles that often go unaddressed.
With more than 23 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Mason has devoted her professional life to caring for others. Her work in the healthcare field strengthened her understanding of both physical and emotional wellness, reinforcing the connection between compassion, access, and long term stability. She has consistently used her voice to empower women and families to confront hardship with clarity and faith.
She is the founder of Crown Me Different, a nonprofit organization serving women and children impacted by trauma. Through mentoring initiatives, empowerment programming, and resource connections, the organization provides structured support for individuals seeking healing and forward movement. Crown Me Different centers restoration, confidence building, and accountability as pathways toward breaking generational patterns.
In addition to the nonprofit, Dr. Mason is the visionary behind the Crown Me Different Women’s Empowerment Conference, now preparing for its ninth year. The conference convenes women from diverse backgrounds for focused conversations on faith, leadership, entrepreneurship, and emotional wellness. Each year, the gathering has expanded in reach, reflecting consistent community engagement and growing demand for faith aligned empowerment spaces.
Dr. Mason’s leadership also extends into entrepreneurship. She is the CEO of Crowned Different Boutique LLC and founder of Kissed By LaToya. She is also the creator of Ar’Mani Lipgloss, a legacy brand named in honor of her granddaughter, reflecting her commitment to building generational ownership and sustainable family impact.
Her authorship further amplifies her mission. Her most recent book, A Mother’s Prayer, released in May 2025, offers reflections on faith, motherhood, and spiritual endurance. The book continues to inspire readers seeking restoration through prayer and disciplined belief.
Her work has earned national and regional recognition. She was named DWAP Speaker of the Year 2025 and DWAP Woman to Watch 2024. She was also recognized as a 2025 I Am She Woman of the Year Honoree and became a finalist in multiple categories for the Generals, Bosses, and Bossettes Platinum Awards. In July 2025, she received an Honorary Doctorate, affirming her impact across healthcare, authorship, and community leadership.
Colleagues note that her leadership remains grounded in Proverbs 3:5–6, a scripture that guides her decision making and public service. Faith informs her business practices, nonprofit strategy, and mentorship approach.
The Women’s Empowerment and Awards Brunch Gala will gather leaders committed to strengthening families, expanding opportunity, and advancing women centered leadership across sectors. Dr. Mason’s recognition reflects a broader movement toward leadership shaped by lived experience, disciplined service, and generational vision.
Through healthcare, authorship, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship, Dr. La Toya Mason continues building platforms where faith meets action and transformation becomes sustainable.
Dr. Mason continues mentoring women navigating grief, transition, and rebuilding after trauma through small group circles, conference sessions, and one to one coaching. Her approach centers prayer, accountability, and practical planning so participants leave with direction they can apply immediately. Families who engage with her programs often report stronger routines, improved communication, and renewed confidence in their ability to move forward together.
