Why and how I'm quitting corporate America
the on going process

So I can't say where I work currently because they do not know I am planning on leaving even though I use a fake name to write, they know I write. I also want to say I'm not encouraging everyone to quit their corporate jobs, it's not for everyone. Having said that I will tell you the reason I decided to quite corporate America.
I've been in corporate America or the working force on and off since I was 18, I am now in my early thirties. Most if not all of my jobs have been customer service. In that time I have only been let go from few jobs. So my last 2 main jobs are 2 that made me want to quit working for corporate America, of course the ones I was let go from were also a deciding factor as well. I was working at my previous job for awhile and towards the middle and last little bit of my time there they would go from giving me 3 days to 1 day a week and then they would also call me in as needed. I later left that job when my life circumstances changed. Then a few months later I got the job I am currently working for now. For a little bit I worked full time then things changed and the same thing that happened at my old job happened here, they would give me less hours.
Now that I told you the back story lets talk about some of the reasons I want to quit working for other people. So I told you the main reasons, I keep getting let go and my hours keep getting cut. The other main reason is I really don't rely on someone else for my paycheck and schedule. I'm also not really qualified to do anything except food service and customer service jobs. These jobs maybe decent depending on the manager or business but most of them don't treat there employees well. In corporate America they mainly care about money and the bottom line. I also don't want to keep getting my hours cut at these jobs.
As for my plan, it's simple, I want to write and make this my full time job. Now in case I get fired from my job before I make a livable wage from writing I am prepared to get a new job to hold me over until I can make a living writing. Now you maybe wondering what if I run out of things to talk about. I have a few topics to write about if that happens.
So far my family has not been supportive of my plan but my friends have. I think they don't see this as a full time job but I want to give this a chance and see what happens. If this backfires I will have to come up with a back up plan which is fine but for now I am happy chasing this dream. I realize I may want to get a new job while I am waiting for the writing thing to pan out which is fine because I know this will take a while to happen for me.
The one thing I thought about is what will I call myself after my big move from the corporate world? I can be called a lot of things writer, blogger, content creator or maybe even girl boss. I think my favorite even though it may get a lot of questions is content creator. When I go out in a lyft or uber and they ask me what I do and I try out content creator the response is usually pretty good. If it is an older driver they may ask "that's a real job?" Which I know why they ask so I don't mind because I think we all realize that there are so many ways to make money without a corporate job.
Corporate America isn't really bad, it's just some of the managers just ruin the jobs for workers like me. Someone has to work in corporate America and for now I am one of those people who have to but hopefully not for long.
