Good morning everyone who is reading this article. I did something today I have been wanting to do for a while. However, life gets in the way sometimes. I recorded a short audio for people to train their voices to sing.
Most people use their voice everyday. We talk on the phone in our social life, work, and school. We talk in conversations with others. Sometimes we just have to be heard. Some of us would love to learn to sing. Some of us think we can sing. Yes, everyone can't sing, but you have to train your ears to your voice. Everyone can sing. I know a lot of people reading this are saying to themselves, I don't think so. Yes you can.
After my accident at the age 5 I loved listening to music Barbara Streisand, Olivia Newton-John, Quarter Flash, Heart, and Pat Benatar. I trained my voice to these singers, even Bruce Dickenson. No, I do not sound like them exacty, but I can match their range. I never took lessons, but always sang. I would practice and practice until I got it correct.
A few techniques I will also tell you. As we get older stretching is your new best friend. If you do not want to walk with a hunched over back you have to stretch your back everyday whether it be on your own or with a theraband. Guess what you have to stretch your throat. By doing this you have to be able to stretch your voice I explain in the recording I am going to share. You should also do a light tapping technique on your throat. If you are a person that slouches or does not sit up straight, get straight. You can't sing unless your throat is stretched out and straight. Do not have your chin down.
Another thing you can do to help get your voice into shape is drink warm water, lemon mixed with honey. Or you can drink ice cold water with lemon. Again, make sure to stretch your throat up by putting your head straight and tall. Pretend you are in the military with a perfect form.
I put together an audio clip for people to practice their voice. There are a few techniques. Keep practicing until you get it. Please, please, please try to start training your ears to hear your voice, so you can get in a rhythm. Listen to your favorite artist and try to match your range to theirs. How can I do that? OK!!!! If you have radio or a computer play their song on that. On your phone hit record on whatever your audio recording is. Recording yourself singing with whoever it is you listen to see how close you are.
OMG!!!!! If you are listening to a song that is a lower tone please do not sing high. Your voice will never match the tone you are going for. Another thing don't try to a high note if you cannot sing yet, and your voice is not ready. YOU WILL GET DISCOURAGED!!!!!! Again, start off slow.
As I mentioned in the recording I just did a good song to practice to is Sound of Music "Do, Re, Mi" You will have so much fun doing this. I taught my preschoolers, and todders this. They loved it. Honestly, when I was teaching that was the most fun I had when I was teaching them how to sing, and do music. Also, to go with the "Do, Re, Mi" song those notes are your piano keys there are 8 of them.
Rhythm and stretching is what you need. Get into the beat. Go wild, have fun while doing it. We all have to clean daily. Make it fun sing and dance while doing it. Don't want to be embarrassed when first learning do it alone. No one has to know what you are doing. Just do it. Gradually work your way up to letting people hear you. Another good thing to try that I did not put in my recording is this. La,la,la,la,la. I know this is going to sound strange but whisting can help stretch your voice, and allow you to sing better.
A quick story about music. I was dating this guy who was beyond beautiful, but he struggled mentally at times. So we were talking one day about moving our relationship further. While we were talking he played for me the type music he listens to. I told him to stop listening to that. He was upset at me. I am a positive person and I was getting depressed listening to that. I told him part of the reason you are depressed is because of the music you listen to. Try to be upbeat when doing this. Do not pick the saddest song in the world to sing to. The more up beat you are the more fun you will have doing this.
How cool would it be to be able to sing and carry a note? Come on, join me in spreading this amazing new you, and cheer. An AI overview says, benefits of singing are it reduces stress, boosts the immune system, improves respiratory function, and enhances mood, found on www.google.com (May 30, 2025 ). OK, who would not want to be less stressed. Let's do it. One more thing the energy of your voice creates positive energy to everyone. Let's bring more positive energy to this world. We can all use it.

I like how you shared your own singing journey. It's inspiring. I've always been interested in voice training too. You mentioned stretching the throat. How exactly do you do that light tapping technique? And does the warm water with lemon really make that big of a difference? I'm gonna try these tips myself and see if I can improve my singing.
