When All Paths Seem Blocked: 3 Real-Life Experiences of Trying to Earn Online (and Why I’m Still Going)

Introduction

Anyone who has ever tried to make money online has likely experienced days when they felt like nothing was going right. Maybe, like me, you’ve started writing a book with excitement, only to see it go unnoticed. Or perhaps you’ve been active on multiple platforms, giving your best, but still faced silence.

These are the kinds of experiences that can make you feel like a failure. But the truth is, no one becomes successful from the start. We’ve all been there, facing challenges and doubts. This article is here to remind you that success doesn’t come overnight, and the road is often filled with obstacles. But these obstacles are not the end—they’re just the beginning of a bigger journey.

In this article, I’ll share three real, honest experiences that might resonate with you. They’re moments where things didn’t go as planned, but they taught me valuable lessons. If you feel like you’re stuck or about to give up, this article is for you. I’m still on this journey, and I believe that persistence will eventually lead to success.

1. Writing a Book That No One Read

I spent months writing, editing, and designing the cover. I felt like it was the best thing I had ever created.

I put the book up on Gumroad and thought, “Finally, I’ll be seen.”

But nothing happened.

No sales, not even a single view.

Just silence.

Those moments were tough, but they taught me something important:

The problem isn’t always the product. The problem is not being seen.

You need to build trust first, then sales will follow.

2. Pinterest + Affiliate Links – Starting with Just One Image

Honestly, I didn’t think Pinterest would work for me. I’m not a graphic designer, and I don’t have a professional page.

But one day, I thought, “Let me give it a try, and see what happens.”

I realized that there are tons of people looking for buying ideas, home décor, LEGO, and other creative stuff. So, I started making simple pins with images I liked.

At first, nothing happened, but then one simple pin suddenly got 200 views.

Slowly, I learned how to add affiliate links.

I’m still at the beginning, and haven’t made many sales, but what I’ve realized is this:

Good content gets noticed with time. You just have to keep going.

3. Creating Content Without Followers – Starting from Zero

You might not believe it, but I started writing without any followers or views.

At first, I thought writing on platforms like this might not lead anywhere, but I quickly realized that my voice might be heard one day.

I started writing about my personal experiences. For example, one article was about how I coped with financial failure. Another was about how I never feared starting over.

At first, I got no views. My articles had no impact. But when I wrote an article called “How I Managed to Live with a Small Monthly Budget,” I began seeing reactions. One reader even contacted me, saying that the article gave them the motivation to keep trying.

That moment was really important for me because it proved that even without followers, you can make an impact. You just have to be there and keep writing.

Final Thoughts

Now, I know I should never be afraid of failure. Every mistake and setback carries a lesson.

Every day, I move forward with more confidence. From Pinterest to other sites, I keep experimenting.

I now know that instead of “failure,” I should be using the word “learning.”

And if you’re like me and feel like you’ll never get anywhere, remember that you’re not alone. This journey is full of setbacks and efforts, but ultimately, real success comes from continuing despite everything.
