writing is my passion.

I have been writing for at least 20 years- initially to help overcome misguided feelings and as a therapeutic mechanism when life was at its lowest. It seamed for a long time this was when I was most inspired to write. I have learned in recent times that I have the ability to write about anything given a topic or just simply when I'm in a state of calm. The first poem I ever wrote and memorized was called "Pain" . I wrote it in 2001(now on my spoken word album ("Tenses") during what was such a hectic time for me. The twin towers had just fallen. chaos and confusion consumed just about every aspect of my life from close friends passing to sudden life changes in to adulthood.

"Pain " it seams was my mantra for a long time. When I wrote the poem I believed that the pain that I put myself through was imperative to become the man that I needed to be, and that pain was well deserved and very necessary. When I think about it now I tortured myself, and began to numb myself from all things that I deemed were weaknesses in a toxic life style I saw now way out of. Contrary to popular belief I was wrong in every way. The energy and strength that I have was always there, and if I had directed it in a more constructive way I would have been better off.

Today I use what I have been through as motivation and to show others that everything good in life is worth fighting for. I'm hoping to one day reach the masses with my writing and give encouragement to those who question hope and faith. To give hope to my children that the world is a magnificent place when looked at from wondrous eyes and faith. There are no mistakes just lessons. Granted some lessons have a higher price if not learned and they are repeated (that is also the definition of insanity). That is when acceptance is needed.

My writing expresses what I believe, what I see, and it is the legacy I choose to leave behind when I expire. This is why I write, this is my passion and my purpose. There are so many obstacles in the process to achieving this goal. I have been working on new endeavors that are challenging but rewarding, Such as Reciting performance poems on stage. As of late I have really been gravitating towards fiction and telling stories with my experiences loosely intertwined to stay true to myself, and hopefully benefit readers in a positive way. When it comes to writing I have always wrote honestly in all aspects. writing about my life and my journey through poems and short stories. When I finish a piece, I reflect in the notion of over coming battles and becoming a better writer in the process.

Laying out these perspectives to initially bring them to fruition is one of the important steps to achieving any of my goals. Having something to say that readers can relate to is another. Finding the words that resonate with like minded people. Finding an audience, I believe it is about how we can interact. Within the core of us all is the need for relationships. W'eve There are similarities between all human beings, Man and women Children's to adults. Life takes us through familiar circumstances and I believe stories can emulate our journeys. Relating is a human quality in so many ways. Weather good or bad the human experience and connection we share can help individuals find there way. I have an eagerness and an ability to to tell my story particularly in writing form, maybe you all will see yourselves in them. Join me in my writing exploration, take a tour through my mind and allow me to touch yours in every way possible.
