Why Ollie Gets Maple Excited About Mealtime
Our Belgian Malinois’s Foodie Adventure with Ollie

Hey There, Fellow Dog Lovers!
I’m here to tell you all about Maple, our 8-year-old Belgian Malinois. Maple’s breed is the type that is typically very protective of her family, always on guard. She’ll often bark at the slightest noise. That said, Maple is also incredibly loving and above all, playful. She's constantly playing with balls, loves to play catch and loves running around outside. When she's with her pet sitter who has two German Shepherds, they give Maple a run for her money, making her even more energetic when she runs around the large property with her two friends.

It was important to us to make sure that given how much Maple was playing, she was also eating enough to meet her energy requirements. The biggest red flag was the fact that the only place her energy was lacking was when it came to mealtime. She was very obviously bored from the same old kibble, day in and day out, and it was just not cutting it. She’d approach her food bowl, give it a side glance, and walk away practically sighing. It was really upsetting and concerning to see her feeling so meh about her meals, especially knowing that at 8 years old, she needs high-energy nutrition to stay healthy, active, and live a long life.
The additional concern is the fact that she was aging. She occasionally experiences joint discomfort, limping after intense exercise. For that reason, we knew we needed a food that would avoid allergens or ingredients that cause any inflammation. MWe also wanted something that would be good for her joints.ost
That's when we found Ollie, a new dog food that offers fresh, tasty meals made with top-quality ingredients. I was really intrigued by the vitamin supplements in Ollie, like Vitamin E, D3, B2, B1 and B6, which I knew immediately would be great for Maple’s energy level and her coat. In general, these meals are made with the same ingredients we eat at home: pork, turkey, and lamb, and fruit like cranberries, blueberries, and apples. The turkey with blueberries was her favorite, and it includes salmon oil, which is supposed to be incredible for her aging joints.

We started by mixing Ollie with her dry food, but Maple quickly let us know that she preferred the fresh stuff. It wasn't long before we transitioned to 100% Ollie, and the transformation in Maple was immediate. She wears her personality on her sleeve and gets so clearly excited when she loves something, and her anticipation for mealtime truly went from zero to one hundred. Her tail would wag so fast when we took a pack of Ollie out, it seemed like she could take off like a helicopter. She’d approach us with those eager eyes, making intense eye contact, like she was trying to get us to hurry up with the food. It was adorable to see her so excited. After eating, she still paces around to see if there is more. Just based off of her reaction, it’s clear to me that Ollie is giving her the nutrients she so clearly must be craving, and that they take the time to carefully craft the unique nutritional needs of dogs.
Maple's been on Ollie for several weeks, and the transformation is so noticeable. Maple started bouncing around, her coat got shinier, and her eyes are sparking like never before. She limped less after exercise, which was amazing, and was a change I didn’t even expect. It was like she found a new zest for life, and knowing she was eating well and enjoying it was a relief.
Another thing we love about Ollie is the convenience. The food was delivered right to our door, perfectly portioned and ready to serve. It’s incredibly easy to mix it with dry food which we started out with, but again, we ended up going just for the fresh meals. It was nice to not have to worry about portioning, though typically Maple simply stops eating when she’s full.
So, if you've noticed your dog showing less than enthusiastic vibes around their food bowl, it might be time to spice up their diet. It really worked for Maple, and a happy dog is a healthy dog. Not only has her overall health improved, but her enthusiasm during mealtime has added a new, heartwarming routine to our daily lives. It feels great to know that we are providing her with the best possible nutrition, and seeing the positive changes in her energy, coat, and mobility has been nothing short of incredible.
