A Healthy Dose of Self-Doubt

The Unnecessary Line

Who are you?

Do you matter?

Yes, you!

I'll bet you matter.

I don't think that I do.

I have no legacy.

No one will plant a garden, erect a building, or even a small statue in my honor when I'm gone.

No one will remember my name in a hundred years.

I will NOT live on.

He had spaghetti to celebrate his birthday.

I will simply cease to exist...

Fade into nothingness.

I have nothing in my arsenal to change this ugly truth.

People, not knowing I’m gone, will go about their business.

I am as inconsequential as one can be.

And yet...

I matter to those who matter,

And that's enough for me.

I love that last line, Julie. And that really should matter enough for all of us.
