A Harvest That's Worth It

A love like black walnuts -
The effort is worth it.
A labor of love,
Leaving stains that last a lifetime.
So many layers to work through
It can sometimes feel futile,
But when you get through the shell,
The complex center - there is nothing quite like it.

You have described what shelling a walnut is spot on, and comparing it to love was brilliant. Nicely Done!!1

Very creative poem. Describing the effort it takes to get to a black walnut which is considerable at best to the labor of love and when you get to the center of it, it is so worth it. Well Done!!!
Beautifully written, I appreciate the depth and thoughtfulness of your words.
