Alone Together

A Poem

I feel your phantom lips upon my own,

your presence alone bringing the rest of the world silent.

I didn't know how small, innocent acts between us could mean the difference between my heart and my mind being one.

Your fingers intertwined within mine, reaching into my heart and beating for you,

but can this be real?

Can I make the phantoms be real?

Can we no longer be ghosts within our touch and let the warmth consume us?

The silence of the world around me is comforting, and I am not alone when I am with you,

us, alone together.
