Why does the weight of sorrow still bind?
Why is it simple moments I can't seem to find?
Why remain an introvert, caught in rewind?
Why hide while others youthfully unwind?
Why prove I can survive, even in shadows unkind?
Why not trade love, the treasure of the heart and mind?
Why dwell in the past, not the present's embrace, I'm assigned?
Why not seek heaven, this earthly hell we grind?
Why not trust in spoken words, as most indeed?
Why not find financial freedom, the dream I've designed?
Why be harsh on myself, self-blame unkind?
Questions within me, unanswered and stark,
Why not apologize to me, forgiveness entwined?
WHY?"

A Love Forboding
The chipped stone slope caused unbearable footing. I slid, skirting on my heels. I cast my shield, relinquishing my guard to stay upright. Left with my double-edge and a prayer to the maker, I skated toward my objective. The earthly stubble gave way to solid ground. I found myself restored, a trail of dust in my wake.
