Becoming the Sea
A collaborative poem of a mermaidโs dream

๐๐๐๐๐๐
You didnโt make me, in this sea of pain
Dystopia in my mind, It set tears
My words lost to me, our song, my heart, drained
Dysmorphia in my water waysโ-fear.
๐
Iโm in the clouds, a palpable sigh, rain
Sea foam, from whence I came, I am my own.
I was still yours, even in her arms, lost.
But my love was given at such high cost
๐
My body dissolves, my flesh becomes clear
From solid to liquid, bone to water
Where was a creatureโ now floating so near
I was your mermaid, the oceanโs daughter
Iโm one with the foam, on waves rushing in
On Silver Tides; Forever a Queen
