Care

It turns out that a lot of concern is just to find out exactly how miserable your life is.

Sometimes,

There are subtle wrinkles hidden in those sudden inquiries about well-being - the other person says in a gentle tone, "How have you been recently?"

His gaze, however, prowls over you, and his tone conceals an imperceptible inquiry.

They seem to ask with concern whether your work is going smoothly and if your life is going well, but in fact, they set traps between the lines, trying to piece together the clues of your unsatisfactory life from your furrowed brows and depressed tone.

Rather than being worried, it was more like having some kind of hidden curiosity, wanting to confirm whether you had fallen or bumped into a wall in some corner, so that they could get some comfort in comparison.

Those seemingly warm cares are like a ruler with scales, dressed in the guise of concern, but in fact they are measuring the cracks in others' lives, quietly plating a layer of contented reflection on your honest wounds.
