—Susan, you are the winner of a new stainless steel refrigerator—
—Investigating the murder of a family in the small town of—
—Looks like we need three apples. Can you count three—
—Even love. Coming up, sparks fly as our couples—
—Now it's time for the judges to taste and score—
Click. There it is, truth, uncomfortable but breathable and
easy, reminding the mind of the hush of self.

Dead and Wearing Green
She was wearing that green dress when I first saw her, five years ago to the day. Flowing meadow fabric draped over long legs, thick auburn hair flowing down her back. That smile. Of course, she is still beautiful now. But now she is no longer alive.
