A poem from my "Sunset Diaries" collection

Moon in Aqua

Sunset

Sunset Confessions

Dusk until dawn

These words that I pen

As I sit on the lawn

Thoughts into poem

Limericks and sonnets

Babydoll dresses

Pink bows and blue bonnets

Childhood swing set

Aging with time

Wind moving the swing

As I write these lines

The branches are swaying

Their singing a song

“Don’t cry dear child

It won’t be long”

“This chapter is over

You’re past the worst”

I cry as I type

The very last verse

Pastel pink clouds

Shades of blue sky

Bright orange yellow

Tears fill my eyes

Somewhere I loved once,

And always will

Tears from my eyes fall

The scene sitting still

Long faded laughter

Now vanished, it’s gone

The wind it picks up now

The scene is now done

Last bits of memory

sun gone from the sky

I take mental pictures,

As I say goodbye
