In a house where the shadows fall thin,
And the pockets are empty but the hearts full within,
Where the bills stack high and the dreams are frayed,
Yet the love in each corner is brightly displayed.
The clock ticks loudly, a harsh, relentless sound,
As we scrape through the days with our feet on the ground,
In a world where the wealth seems to pass us by,
Yet our hearts overflow, and our spirits fly.
We stretch every dollar, each moment we mend,
With a currency rich in the love we extend,
Critics may speak of the lack that we bear,
But their eyes miss the joy that's woven in care.
For in our small kitchen, with meals humbly made,
And in laughter that springs from the games that we've played,
There’s a wealth not measured in coin or in gold,
But in warmth and in kindness that never grows old.
Through the trials and troubles that darken our door,
We find solace in the bonds that we hold evermore.
The critics may scorn what they see as a plight,
But they cannot perceive our joy's golden light.
So we cherish the moments when we gather near,
In the glow of our love, all our worries disappear.
For though we may lack in the wealth they all see,
In our hearts we have treasure, boundless and free.
And as the sun sets on another long day,
We’ll greet the dawn’s light with a smile and say,
In a world full of cold, we’ve found our own way,
In the richness of love, we’re wealthy, we’ll stay.
