🌳
Splinter
Split me from the trunk,
I’ll bleed sap and crimson red
Still screaming in Death.
🌳
I've come to die here
Guts rend open like the tree
Waiting to devour.
🪵
Becoming Bark
Bloodied silence screams
wrapped in rings of time and root
I chew through the bleed.
🌿
Memory’s Vessel
The tree remembers
When I ate my shadow’s weight
Death's Putrefaction.
🌳
I am buried here
Haunting...fused bark and being,
Skin, rotted, decayed.

So dark. Excellent work and definitely worthy of placing in the Challenge. I hope you do!
WOW! You flame-broiled this one! Awesome job No! 💪🏾🧡
Oofff, that felt like a trip to a totally different, dark magic and witchery, world. Great entry for the challenge, Novel!
🍂 I LOVE THIS! One of my many favorite passages is "Bloodied silence screams/wrapped in rings of time and root/I chew through the bleed." 🤎 🍂🤎
Excellent!!! Dark and Devilish... I think you've given me inspiration to try one.
Unique spin on the challenge. Interesting xxing of genres. scary stuff.
Wonderful haikus, Novlet. Very haunting.
Really haunting imagery. The way you blend tree and body makes it both eerie and beautiful.
Pretty cool contradiction, the tree of life vs the grave. Gives me the sense of being trapped by one’s roots. Also, just cool to take a generally comforting image— trees— and spin a horror vibe around them. Good job!
Oh, these are some haunting haikus! Good luck in the challenge!
