Dear February,Teach Me Softness

A quiet prayer for gentleness in a loud, demanding world.

By Muhammad Haroon khanPublished about 16 hours ago 1 min read

Dear February,

teach me softness...

not the kind that breaks,

but the kind that bends

without losing its shape.

Teach me how to be gentle

in a world that celebrates hardness,

how to rest without guilt,

how to breathe without apologizing

for taking up space.

January taught me survival.

Cold lessons.

Sharp mornings.

Long nights that demanded strength.

But you...

you arrive shorter, quieter,

carrying patience in your pockets

and forgiveness in your breath.

Teach me to forgive myself

for being tired,

for growing slowly,

for blooming later than expected.

Teach me love

that does not rush,

hope that does not shout,

and faith that whispers

“I am still here.”

Dear February,

if you must be brief,

at least be kind...

and leave me softer

than you found me.
