A new month begins,
Yet the gray clouds remain,
A perpetual stain,
On once bright sunny days.
Mr. Groundhog,
Will you keep your shadow away?
Give some flicker of hope today?
I am ready for a change.
No more lazy excuses,
No more cold sunless skies,
Motivation buried beneath lies,
A burden too heavy to lift.
Mr. Groundhog,
Will you bring something lighter?
A spark to inspire this tired writer?
There must be a way.
Paint the landscape with color,
Trade the grim for the pleasant,
Make these doubts effervescent,
Floating upwards into the air.
Mr. Groundhog,
Won't you summon the spring?
Don't you wish to hear the birds sing?
The world was built to awaken such creation.

This is so fun and playful, Alyssa! Doesn’t seem like he paid much mind to your wonderful letter though…
Dear Me. Ground Hog indeed. We are waiting for him to say Spring is on the way. Our heater isn't working right this year, so I would appreciate it if Mr. Ground Hog would give us a break, although he is always wrong. Nicely done on the article.
Love how you’ve captured that “waiting for spring” vibe! The tone is playful, but the message of wanting change comes through strong. Mr. Groundhog’s got a big task ahead!
Thank you for sharing this impactful piece.
Oh, I love your poem~ I'm with you on this wish 😊
