Wandering delight
of luscious possibilities
flavors of cinnamon, vanilla,
sprinkled nutmeg
and sea salt
to top off caramel
and chocolate
longing.
***
Does missing someone taste like air,
like candy
or brings up fragrance of marzipan
mingled with Turkish delight
to taste the flutters
of entwined hearts?
***
The dusted pink of recollection
brings back brown sugar, toasted
cardamom
a cup of tea, the warm voice
that breaks off worries, anxiety
keeping hearts to one tune
making souls sing
or play hide-and-seek in the lane
of walking memories.
***
One taste, one sip,
of that long afternoon
the first one spent together
the first time you saw me,
when I felt gazes lock
and stay linked
in absence
or delightful laughter
of the now.
***
Mystery ever new,
story known long ago
the past and present are one
with the future,
with each second that passes,
the flavor of life together
adds the ingredients
of relish, fondness,
tender devotion
and all the sunshine in between,
the caramel-chocolate path
of tasty recollection, of
warm enjoyment.
***
The only dream that holds
the taste of macarons,
dunked in vanilla, pistachio
one drop of ganache
blueberries, lemon, lavender
finishing with red velvet
in one hug set to last
today
and every day to come.
