A poem

I often think about dinosaurs,

and their existence in the past.

They lived so long ago,

yet their impact has continued to last.

While they don’t truly fuel our cars,

they’ve ignited a curiousity,

still surrounded in luminosity,

as we wonder if they started at the same stars.

Magnificent, marvelous and grand,

numerous yet so many unique species

unhoused from impacted sand.

We wonder on their skin,

was it scaly or flesh like?

smooth or rigid?

So many questions asked again and again.

Millions of years before us,

but the interest only continues to grow.

Herbivores & predators,

Our ancient friends so infamous.
