As the name implies,

so distortion runs amuck...

don't take my mind there!

In for two of ten

Too far gone for me indeed

Grotesquerie flee!!!

I love detective shows even though a detective has to be somewhat distorted in character to deal with all that runs afoul out there. They have perhaps (and most likely) faced their inner fears. They maybe lost a bit of belief in the "good in all theory" because they have seen the "worst in all."

Nuns have always been a bit frightening to me, though. Maybe because of all the starch. I just think that anybody that wears something so uncomfortable has to be hiding something a bit sinister. (Sorry if I have offended any truly good sisters, though.)

Nurses should behave in a certain manner and be somewhat non-judgmental in nature. That is what I was taught in nursing school, at least. It is well known that they (we) deal with stress in the workplace with dark humor at times. But to patients and their families, there is a proper protocol for our calling.

My assessments of detectives, nuns, and nurses come to a bloody screaming distortion after having only seen two of the ten part FX series, "Grotesquerie." My cognitive realities have forever been disturbed by Detective Lois Tryon, Sister Megan, and Nurse Redd. My stomach hurts from all of the dichotomies of "normal" vs the gross abnormals.

So much so that I choose not to continue with the series. I have seen too much already and cannot "unsee" it.

This has been for Matthew Fromm's challenge for a Bad Movie Review. I know a series isn't a movie and that I have "distorted" the rules. But isn't that what it's all about, anyways?

I thought about doing a bad review on an old movie I had seen when I was a kid, "The Blob." Or about "The Exorcist," which terrified me as a young woman. But old age and purposeful amnesia prevented me from penning a meaningful draft.

I wanted to offer a relevant review and see what my readers thought of the series. Spoiler: Travis Kelce (The Mr. that later makes his debut on the show as he awaits for his Mrs...aka Taylor Swift to give her thumbs up approval.) I will have to live not knowing how that turns out...

Went to a Catholic school and there was an elderly nun who used to ring a gong to usher us from recess. After ringing it, she would stop and give everyone a stare. The scary part was her hunched back, she looked a little like Quasimodo Yikes! A cool poem!
