Do not spread your love here
It is unwanted and unsolicited
Take your love and spread it somewhere else
Stay away from my children
Do Not Pollute The Sacred Space
Or you will suffer the consequences
As sure as the sun sets behind the trees
You are responsible
Do not play the victim or the martyr
I Do Not Care If You Raised Me
I Do Not Care If You Did A Lot For Me
Stay Away From My Children
Do Not Pollute The Sacred Space
I do not care if you don't drink, do drugs, or committ crimes
I Don't Like you
So simply stay away from my family
I couldn't make it anymore clear
Stay away from my family
Or there will be consequences
Do Not Pollute The Sacred Space

I love to write in every venue. I am 75 years old and try to make every day count,. I am learning a great deal about poetry on Vocal, and I am glad to be here.

I appreciate how this work challenges the assumption that love is always virtuous. The focus on protecting sacred space, especially children, gives the poem moral gravity and emotional weight.
very fierce, Susan
Nothing a parent wouldn’t do to protect their child! I feel this poem personally!
I can feel and hear the fierceness in your words. Powerful.
