Singing the words felt right for this
inexplicable moment when my entire being was
laid bare before you.
Even as fear swept over my vision,
nothing could render my thoughts untrue.
Can I say it to you? Your eyes locked on mine,
echoing the sentiment that needed no voice. We both knew.
