Double Exposure of the Soul

Layers of Light and Shadow Within Us

By Saqib UllahPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

I am two images pressed into one frame,

One bright with laughter, one heavy with rain.

Light bends over the corners of my mind,

Shadows stretch where my truths hide behind.

In the blur between yesterday and today,

I find the echoes of words I couldn’t say.

A shutter clicks, and the world stands still,

Capturing fragments my heart cannot will.

My memories overlap, sharp yet soft,

Like morning mist alighting on rooftops aloft.

Faces I’ve known, both near and gone,

Merge into portraits of dusk and dawn.

Every layer tells a story unspoken,

Of dreams delayed and promises broken.

But in the mingling of light and dark,

Glimmers the pulse of an unbroken spark.

The photo holds both my grief and my grace,

A mirror of time I can never erase.

I am the sum of exposures entwined,

The double image the lens has divined.

And though the world sees just one fleeting glance,

I carry the depth of a second chance.

For every soul bears its hidden frame,

A secret imprint, untouched by name.
