About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump into me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night—I’m humbly one of the vessels they use to come to life.

Also, i love you:)

Web of life!! 🍃👏 It surely is. ☺️ Great cover image too. Green is the best! & I love how we can see the web-like image within the leaf. (I’m not good with science haha - I’m sure that has a name!). Just appreciated the connection! 🙏 I swear I read this earlier Kristen ..but didn’t appear to comment.. might have been in rush or distracted - my apologies.

Oh my gosh the flow of this was magical. This was a beautiful description of photosynthesis 💕

  • Whoaaaaa! This was so breathtaking and educational! You're incredibly amazing!

  • Why Kristen, I'd give you static over this, but there's nothing static in the cycles of life, death & regeneration, constantly in flux, ebb & flow. (That, & this poem is articulately beautiful--so there's that.)

So you just proved science lessons CAN be beautiful 🤷‍♀️ 😍

  • Such a beautiful flow of words! Stunning :)

That is the perfect love story, brings back memories of trying the memorize the formulae for that in high-school biology, I feel like I would have done so much better if I had this poem to guide me. I like how you bring it into the food chain and life cycle. Gotta get to glucose!

Brilliant poem. Should be in every English Lit book, wait, science, wait… put it in Both! 🥰

  • I’ve been spending a lot of time admiring and revering the trees of late! This poem is a thousand times more wonderful than my mind has yet conceived to pour out these thoughts ❤️✨🙏

Wow. This is great. Love how you turn science into romance. Well done, you beautiful brilliant creature.

Slam dunk, pal! This was awesome. I clicked to read this as fast as I saw it come up! I love your nature-influenced/inspired poetry...so this was an easy sell...but love how you weaved in scientific details and still made it beautiful! Stunning work, Kristen, seriously!
