ECLIPSED

Birth of Worship

Early man stared in horror

Cowering at the unexpected

Loss of light that

Indicated the removal of approval and the dis-

Pleasure of the All-One.

Screams, sobs, and sacrifices:

Entreaties lifted to appease; and thus: religion.

Hoooo FIRE!!! Sure that I will read this multiple times. Woohoos AND pom-poms Judey!

  • And much like tapping sticks together in South Dakota to keep the Bengal tigers at bay, voila! It works. This reminds me of the movie "The Invention of Lying" with Ricky Gervais.

Now this is spectacular. I really enjoyed the history you added in about how the eclipse probably caused fear and gave a rise to religion. Good luck

  • This is an original take Judey- using the actual event of an eclipse and linking it to something so universal as religion and belief. "Cowering at the unexpected Loss of light " is the line that stood out to me, and I like how this makes us think about what it would have been like to experience an eclipse with no scientific understanding of what was going on.
