El Mar en Prado

Standing before Degrain, 1909

I gaze ahead at light flickers

water draws breath

my feet root

The walls m e l t

forming gothic wax piles at my ankles-

exposed

strangers’ gaits

they d i s a p p e a r into murmurs of fabrics

touching shoulders

pressing against booming space

Welling s l o w

Museo Del Prado

braces

as drums thump through flushed bodies

My eyes blink once

two oblong droplets pull

n

my cheeks to hang ethereal

a veil on “Jesús en el Tiberíades”

it is the sea

a thread of rheumy light, 1909

pulled from your innards

filling soft and low on canvas

You breathe out

as I breathe

in

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
