An Eclipse of the Heart

Emptiness of isolation,

Comes from the pain of refutation.

Lost in "what might have been" in the past,

Isolated by a friendship that faded too fast.

Passing infatuations now can't be found,

So, I can't ask that you "turn around."

Every time that we're apart, I feel it now; an eclipse of the heart...

I ask you of one final chance,

As our emotions perform our dance.

Back and forth, forth and back;

It wasn't one more friendship that I felt I lacked.

I beg you, one last time, "can't we talk?"

Or is that invitation just one more invitation for you to walk?

It may not be my company that you still please;

Then, go, girl; I leave you in peace...
