There's a ringing in my ears
One that brings me to tears
Forcing me to confront my fears
Like a lamb before the shears
Let me stand in front of peers
Forgetting all the jabbing jeers
From those many past years
My mind will grind its gears
As the impending moment nears
But I will shout as my voice sears
To give life to words like spears
To strike the heart that hears
And relish in its joyous cheers.

Ooooh! A mono-rhyme! They have always intimidated me! You did a marvelous job! Gave me some public speaking anxiety...
This one packs a punch! That βmind grinding its gearsβ line? Yeah, my brain does that every time I have to make a phone call. β¨
Nicely written
The terror I feel in front of a mic is enormous. Youβre so brave!
